Management of an

Wednesday, 8 September 2010

Management of an organization, particularly a business firm, is confronted with issues and decisions that have important financial implications. Questions must be answered like:

? What kind of plant and machinery should the firm buy?

? How should the firm raise finances?

? How much should the firm invest in inventories?

? What should the firm?s credit policy be?

? How should the firm gauge and monitor its financial performance?

Business finance is broadly concerned with the acquisition and use of funds by a business firm. Its scope may be defined in terms of the following questions: How large should the firm be and how fast should it grow? What should be the composition of the firm?s assets? What should be the mix of the firm?s financing? How should the firm analyze, plan and control its financial affairs?

In general, business finance rests on the premise that the objective of the firm should be to maximize the value of firm to its equity shareholders. What is the justification for this objective? It appears to provide a rational guide for business decision-making and promote efficient allocation of resources in the economic system. Savings are allocated primarily on the basis of expected return and risk and the market value of a firm?s equity stock reflects the risk-return trade-off of investors in the market place.

Hence when a firm maximizes the market value of its equity stock, it ensures that its decisions are consistent with the risk-return preferences of investors.

As the years

Tuesday, 7 September 2010

As the years go by, businesses will notice their individual busy and quiet seasons.

The problems may begin when a traditionally busy season is quiet. You find yourself questioning quality and price, and finally you wonder whether the product is no longer in fashion, or perhaps less people are looking at the type of product that you are offering. Instead of designing and developing a new product that you feel may be more suitable, or throwing money at ideas that may or may not work, surely it would be easier and more economical to ask customers what they would like.

The art of a successful business and basic business philosophy is to give the customer what they want, whether it is a custom made piece or a mass produced item. One of the best ways to learn is to ask.

After leaving college I started making what I wanted and failed to find customers to buy my designs. I decided to make traditional furniture that would fit the status quo and found attracting customers became easier.

Softly spoken, very

Tuesday, 7 September 2010

Softly spoken, very independent and proud she invited me into her home. I was fascinated with her life story and wisdom. On the subject of age her accented voice I can still hear. ?Don?t dust the mirrors too often?; ?soft lighting will put you and your guests at ease.? ?If there is nothing to laugh about use your memory to go back to a funny moment?. ?Don?t stop eating what you like as you get older; be grateful you have the choice?. ?Worry not about tomorrow, just hope that it comes?. There were many pearls of wisdom this eighty something lady offered me. Less than a quarter of her age, I did not understand their importance but her most often used line was, live each day with the person you love as though it is the last one you will have together. As I get older I see that time is precious, this point has started to be relevant.

YOUNG offenders are getting help to turn around their lives, according to a report.

Conwy and Denbighshire Youth Justice Service (YJS) has been praised for making a difference to the lives of the children and young people under its supervision.

The independent inspection, by HMI Probation, welcomes staff commitment. Inspectors found the YJS scored above the national average on reducing the risk of harm to the community (65% against 60%)

Used to be

Tuesday, 7 September 2010

Used to be you’d call up a few friends and
invite them over to celebrate a birthday, a birth, or a graduation. Today you
can’t get away with eloping without an invitation or announcement.

Fortunately, there are a couple of straightforward ideas, which every
professional knows, that you can easily incorporate into your own design, to
give you a class look without having to fall back on high-class expenditures.

Everyone loves monograms. They shout out style, expense, and all around luxury.
You can NOT easily reproduce that on your own printer, but how about a
watermark? It carries many of the same innuendoes, and is much easier to
reproduce. Take your design, your logo, your initials in a nice Script font, (it
really doesn’t matter what you choose), and fade it out so that it’s almost
invisible. Make sure you include it on every page: envelopes, inserts,
invitations, announcements.

In addition to getting baseline

Tuesday, 7 September 2010

In addition to getting baseline weights and measurements on her, your vet will want to check her blood and stools for illness and parasites. If you have never had a cat before, the first visit is a good time to get a demonstration in cleaning your pet’s ears and clipping her toenails properly.

A proper diet and sufficient exercise are key factors in keeping your cat healthy. You must make sure the food you give your cat is of good quality to provide her with the correct amounts of nutrients to keep her systems running. If you are confused by the variety of brands of cat food available, ask your veterinarian for some help. Don’t be embarrassed to tell him how much you are able/willing to spend for pet food. There are some excellent brands that are not very expensive, and some expensive brands that are not very good.

Exercise not only keeps your cat’s weight under control, it strengthens her muscles and enhances her immune system. Some cats are naturally active. Others need anywhere from a little to a lot of encouragement from you to get moving.

The absence of sinus

Tuesday, 7 September 2010

The absence of sinus arrhythmia may indicate other problems with the heart. In EKG interpretation, the lack of sinus arrhythmia has been seen to predict the occurrence of sudden death from heart attack or heart failure. The results of an EKG may become the basis for additional treatment. Your doctor will decide if further evaluation is needed. EKG technicians are highly trained and skilled medical professionals; many physicians consider these technicians to be the first authority in interpreting the EKG results.

Please Note: Professional EKG readings require a great amount of training and education. Since many methods exist to interpret these readings, it is often difficult for non-medical people to understand the terminology. If you are having an EKG performed, your technician will be glad to answer any questions regarding the EKG reading. If you notice something that seems abnormal to you, the technician may be able to calm your fears and by explaining the results in layman’s terms.

EKG Info provides comprehensive information on EKG readings, interpretation, m machines, technicians, abnormal EKGs and more. EKG Info is the sister site of Stethoscopes Web..

Microsoft and Intel

Monday, 6 September 2010

Microsoft and Intel announced the new Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC) form-factor back in March with the aim to bring full Windows XP (and later Windows Vista) functionality to a handheld, tablet-based devices. Over the past few months, we?ve seen UMPC devices from Asus, Samsung, ECS, DualCor and TabletKiosk. Today, we can add a new player to the game: Sony. Here?s the real kicker though, Sony claims the whole ultraportable weighs in at just 1.2lbs.Rather than just enter the fray with a cookie-cutter ?been there, done that? design with its new VAIO UX, Sony has decided to spice things up a bit. While all previously displayed UMPCs make do with a stylus for input as well as a somewhat awkward on-screen keyboard, the VAIO UX features a dedicated sliding keyboard for quicker data entry in addition to the traditional stylus. The VAIO UX also comes with a ?touch launcher? which gives users quick access to oft used functions like email and music.

On the hardware side of things, the one-pound unit packs an Intel ULV Core Solo processor, 4.5 SVGA (1024?600) touch sensitive LCD with XBRITE technology, three USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, VGA, Firewire, WiFi, Bluetooth and WWAN (compatible with Cingular?s EDGE wireless network).
