Hidden in plain sight

WHERE do you hide a tree? In a forest. But when swathes of forest are being illegally cleared, and trees carted off and shipped away, how is the deception achieved? Eventually, the forest runs out, and a big empty area remains. Surely someone will notice? Strangely, nobody seems to. Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers have seized millions of ringgit worth of illegally-felled timber, taken along the Jalan Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands area on the Perak-Pahang border and near a forest reserve in Mersing, Johor. Initial investigations have it that the loggers went beyond the time or area limits of their licences
