Volunteer Legal Services Project of Monroe County broadcasts CLEs

Daily Record (Rochester, NY), Jun 17, 2010 by Linda Kostin

Volunteer Legal Services Project of Monroe County Inc. and ProBonoNY joined forces May 7 to recruit pro bono divorce attorneys throughout the Seventh Judicial District with a live broadcast of a doubleheader divorce CLE program.

“Divorce 101″ and “Additional Topics in Matrimonial Law” were broadcast live from Rochester’s Hall of Justice to courthouses in the seven rural counties of the Seventh Judicial District.

Made possible thanks to the support of the Hon. Thomas M. Van Strydonck, Administrative Judge, Seventh Judicial District, organizers believe the program was the first live broadcast of a pro bono recruitment CLE in New York, according to John Ritchie, special counsel to the Hon. Fern Fisher, Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for New York City Courts and Director, New York State Courts Access to Justice Program.

Sharing their expertise in matrimonial law as CLE presenters were: Charles Inclima; Catherine Cerulli, J.D., Ph.D., University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry; Kevin Nasca, principal law clerk to Hon. John M. Owens; Thomas Martin; Paloma Capanna, and Lisa Sadinsky.

With nearly 50 participants attending each CLE, the pro bono broadcast was a success
