Trial date moved for I.F. man accusedinvehicle-crashdeath

0 Comments | Idaho State Journal; Pocatello, Idaho, Jun 15, 2010 | by Bulger, John

POCATELLO –The Idaho Falls man accused of causing the death of a passenger in his vehicle after a high-speed crash in January had his trial date moved to August.

C o d y Ryan Mc-D e r m o t t -Reid, 22, is charged with felony vehicular manslaughter and aggravated DUI, stemming from the Jan. 27 accident at the intersection of McKinley Avenue and Z Street that resulted in the death of passenger Angie Large, 24, of Idaho Falls. Another passenger suffered multiple fractures to her pelvis.

Defense attorney Victor Bunitsky Jr.’s motion to move the trial was premised on availability of a witness and was granted by Sixth District Judge David C. Nye without objection by the prosecutors. However, Bunitsky’s next motion was not as well received by the state.

Bunitsky’s motion requested Nye order the prosecution not to impede his investigation. Bunitsky explained that he had phoned a state’s witness to see if he could meet with her. He said the woman agreed, but after speaking with prosecutors said she would only do so if the prosecution was present.

Bunitsky noted the woman was not obligated to speak with him, but implied the state had interfered with the woman’s earlier agreement, a suggestion that did not sit well with Bannock County Deputy Prosecutor Ken Webster.

“This is ridiculous,” said an incensed Webster, who said if Bunitsky had any questions about his integrity, he should bring them to the state bar’s attention. “I take exception to this motion.”

Webster said the woman had called him after speaking with Bunitsky and had been counseled that she could choose to speak with him or not. He said the woman expressed concern that her statement might become “twisted” is she went alone.

Nye denied the motion, noting that the woman was within her rights to ask for the prosecution to attend if she so chose

Saturday, 07 July 2010

However, the computer virus also attempts to spread to other systems. In general a root kit limits itself to maintaining control of one system.

A program or suite of programs that attempts to automatically scan a network for vulnerable systems and to automatically exploit those vulnerabilities and compromise those systems is referred to as a computer worm. Other forms of computer worms work more passively, sniffing for usernames and passwords and using those to compromise accounts, installing copies of themselves into each such account (and usually relaying the compromise account information back to the cracker/attacker through some sort of covert channel).

Of course there are hybrids. A worm can install a root kit, and a root kit might include copies of one or more worms, packet sniffers or port scanners.

Saturday, 07 July 2010

It may be easier to wheel your clothes to where you fold them (in front of the TV) and to the rooms they need to be put away in.

Giving children the responsibility of folding/hanging their own clothes, saves you time and decreases the likelihood of them throwing every little thing into the dirty clothes.

Make it easy for kids to put their own clothes away. If clothes are to be hung, make sure the rod is low enough for them to reach. For small children, a basket inside a drawer is easier to use than a folded pile. (i.e. As long as my 6 year olds? underwear makes it to the underwear basket inside the drawer, that is good enough for me.)

Weed out clothes in kids? drawers and adult drawers.

To sum it

Saturday, 07 July 2010

To sum it up: Makes good money, makes good sense!

Very few people understand computer code. And it’s my guess very few will or have the desire to. So, what’s big businesses problem? FEAR? I certainly don’t know, but if you look around the Internet and Stock Markets these days you can see that they’re slowly figuring this out. Makes good money, makes good cents!

PERIL ON STATE ROAD 80 PLEA FOR SAFETY {HEADLINE2}

PERIL ON STATE ROAD 80 PLEA FOR SAFETY {HEADLINE2}

0 Comments | Palm Beach Post, Jul 28, 2010 | by JASON SCHULTZ

Ocie Mae Saulberry was returning to Pahokee from a bingo trip in West Palm Beach when she drove off the side of State Road 80, sinking into the canal that runs alongside it.

It took nearly a month for anyone to find the 40-year-old, still inside her Buick.

Since her death in March 2009, three other drivers have died in the canal along the same stretch of highway between 20-Mile Bend and Belle Glade. The most recent was 43-year-old Saintilio Leocal, who drove into the canal July 16 about a mile east of where Saulberry died.

That’s four deaths too many, say local leaders who want the state to install guardrails along the road.

But the Florida Department of Transportation says the roughly 18- mile stretch doesn’t meet state guidelines to require guardrails. That’s because the road has wide shoulders, and the canal is more than 60 feet from the travel lanes.

“What do you mean it doesn’t meet the guidelines?” asked Palm Beach County Commissioner Jess Santamaria, one of the officials leading the push for guardrails. “The guidelines are that people are dying.”

FDOT officials said they do not know how many miles of state highway exist in the county or South Florida with canals but no guardrails. Department design engineer Howard Webb estimated it would cost about $116,000 per mile to install guardrails between the south side of the highway and the canal, or about $2.1 million for the entire stretch.

The problem is not limited to state highways. Drownings also occur along local roads that lack guardrails — for example, the Feb. 12 death of Scott Patrick Wilson after a collision with polo club founder John Goodman. Wellington maintains that stretch of Lake Worth Road, according to county traffic officials.

Saulberry’s cousin, Breyona Elijah, said that every time she drives to the Glades, she looks at the spot where her cousin died. When she heard about Leocal, the first thing she thought of was Saulberry’s death.

“Ocie was a good, very outgoing person,” Elijah said
